According to TMZ, Leslie Nielsen passed away Sunday night around 5:30pm surrounded by family and friends in what I believe to be the most gracious death ever.
This is where I defend my words for those who come here simply to find fault. So here are my reasons for thinking so;
A) Leslie Nielsen lived to be 84. Not a bad age but not lingering overlong or too leaving too soon. A respectable age. Kudos Leslie.
B) He died surrounded by loved ones. Fair enough. I hope that is how I will go also. I just spent the holiday surrounded by my large family (blood and extended alike) and have to admit it was one of the best holidays I’ve ever had. So that was a nice touch.
C) Timing! I say constantly that timing is everything. It will actually make a bad move into a good one, a failure into success, and a nuisance the bearer of the gospel. Thank you Leslie, from me and those who were at your side when you passed, for not dying at 2am or just around breakfast or even after we have gone home for the day and are just getting comfortable. You died while the world worked. You died while we still had our presentable garments draped about us and were not yet shed of our shoes and looking forward to silence and the evening news. You left us as the day came to a close on our professions and just as we are getting ready to become human with our families again. Good timing, Mr. Nielsen.
You ended your life with the same tacky class you used in living. Thanks. If you had to leave at least you got to do it well. R.I.P. Leslie Nielsen.
